ABOUT JACK
ACTOR. DIRECTOR. PRODUCER. TEACHER.
Jack grew up immersed in storytelling, with roots in a family of world-famous circus performers and acrobats, but he found his own stage when an acting class sidetracked his baseball path. Trained at The Juilliard School, he toured the country with John Houseman’s The Acting Company and has since performed on regional stages across the United States as well as internationally, from Paris and Venice to New York’s Public Theater and the Delacorte, where he appeared multiple times in the New York Shakespeare Festival.
In Los Angeles, he co-founded The New American Theatre, where he has brought more than 200 productions and roles to life, ranging from Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Hamlet, and Richard III to modern classics like True West. He has also originated roles in several world premiere plays. Alongside acting and directing, Jack teaches acting and mentors the next generation of performers.
On stage and screen, Jack has worked with some of the greatest talents of our generation, including appearing with Al Pacino in both the stage and film versions of Salomé. On television, he is known for playing DEA Captain Roy Till in Weeds, a role that earned his ensemble a SAG Award nomination, and for memorable recurring appearances on fan favorites including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, JAG, NCIS, Monk, The Practice, and ER.
His stage work has been recognized with multiple awards, including a Career Achievement Award from Stage Raw.
Most recently, he starred in Lear Redux: A Quantum Fantasia at the Odyssey Theatre. Part of the immensely popular Redux series, these productions merge Shakespeare with modern language, physical theatre, and dance, creating bold and contemporary reimaginings of the classics
